It's soft foam, and we had to use some fine-gauge beading wire to shape ours, but it looks GREAT hanging on the wall of a long-time Friday fan. He loves it! It's nicely designed so that if he ever gets contacts agan, he'll be able to wear it as a costume piece, and I expect that's why it's soft foam--much more comfortable for actual wear.
